A collective project, Welcome Home, transforms Haus der Statistik, Haus C into a showroom of hospitality. As one of the few remaining squats, it gives room for alternative living scenarios in the heart of Berlin’s biggest construction site – Alexanderplatz. The performance is placed in the almost 5m2 tiny house, which is located inside. This provides an essential framework for the project as an image of great intention that unfortunately only passively responds to the crisis of affordable living.
Welcome Home explores our understanding of home and hospitality using a medium familiar to most of us – IKEA catalogue – as a research tool. Together we research personal rituals and body constructs to create various scenarios of home.
